Diversity with responsibility: Inductive components for the complexity of the defense industry

Hardly any other industry has such diverse and challenging requirements as the defense industry – and the applications for which inductive components are needed are correspondingly diverse.

Our print transformers are used in many of these areas of application. For example, in missile control systems, where they need to be particularly compact and lightweight. But at the same time, they must also be extremely resistant and vibration-proof to withstand the enormous mechanical stresses during launch. On ships, they also ensure that the metal hull is protected against network interference. This requires maximum mechanical stability – even shock pulses, such as those caused by nearby sea mines, must not cause any damage.

Another important area of application for our products is ground power supplies. These operate at 400 Hz and are used for maintenance and testing of aircraft or individual components of flying objects. New technologies such as drones also have special requirements – both in terms of control and charging infrastructure. In addition, electric vehicles are increasingly being used and will therefore require suitable charging solutions.

Every application is unique. Standard solutions are often insufficient – instead, customized components are required that meet complex specifications and must pass specific standards and tests by external bodies.
