With EMU-Ecovolt®, you can easily save up to 20% energy on classic appliances – without compromising on comfort. What sounds unbelievable at first is based on the physical laws of our power grids.

Why voltage is so crucial

In Germany, voltage fluctuations of ±10% are completely normal and legally permitted – i.e., between 360 V (208 V) and 440 V (254 V). Most electrical devices and systems must be designed to function reliably even at the minimum voltage of 360 V.

But what happens when a higher voltage – close to 440 V, for example – is applied continuously? This excess energy is often converted into heat, which is not only inefficient but also puts strain on your devices.

This is exactly where EMU-Ecovolt® comes in: by specifically lowering the mains voltage to an optimal level, energy is saved – without impairing the function of your devices and systems. The principle is not only clever, but also scientifically sound – and the effectiveness of this approach is documented in the VDE application rule VDE-AR-E-2055-1: Calculation of the increase in electrical energy efficiency through the use of electrical energy regulators based on the principle of voltage reduction.

EMU-Ecovolt® – targeted energy savings

Our systems regulate the voltage down to approx. 365 V – exactly what your consumers need. This allows you to avoid unnecessary energy losses and significantly reduce your power consumption – especially with inductive or capacitive loads, such as those found in systems with poor cosine phi.

Best of all, the power remains the same – only the energy loss is reduced.

Intelligent control thanks to PLC

The integrated PLC in the EMU-Ecovolt® continuously monitors your mains voltage and optimally adjusts the output voltage. This allows you to achieve maximum energy savings – completely automatically.

In conjunction with energy monitoring, EMU-Ecovolt® provides valuable measurement data about your network. On this basis, further protective measures can be integrated—such as surge and lightning protection or filter solutions against harmonics.
